To address the emerging challenges and growing needs of design professionals across various industries, Autodesk, Inc has unveiled the Autodesk 2013 Solutions, a more cost-efficient and mobile engineering and design software. This latest application includes workflow updates for engineering, infrastructure, construction, entertainment, architecture and manufacturing design. The Autodesk Solutions 2013 also features the Autodesk 360, a cloud computing system with expansive storage, where users can easily edit, share and access their designs anytime and anywhere.
According to Wendy Lee, Autodesk Branch Manager in Hong Kong and Macau, the enhanced cloud computing can deal with evolving infrastructure demands, as well as maximizing efficiency and creating flexibility. She further adds that the new Autodesk 2013 Solutions can effectively work across different enterprises in Engineering, Architecture, Entertainment and Construction. The suites included in the platform can work smoothly with each other, and with the help of a more advanced cloud storage system, designers can expand their capabilities, and find new ways to work on complex projects.
Autodesk 360 – Cloud Storage, bringing more mobility to engineering and design
Formerly known as the Autodesk Cloud, the Autodesk 360 is one of the best features of Autodesk 2013. Different subscription options are available, where customers can have up to 3 GB of free access to file sharing, viewing and storage. Other benefits of Autodesk subscriptions include additional storage and more innovative features such as design optimization, simulation, rendering and energy analysis. Subscribers can avail of as much as 25 GB of storage and anywhere from 100 to 500 Autodesk Cloud Units/seat so they can access the Autodesk 360 Cloud Services.
Autodesk Design Suites 2013 – Working across Different Platforms, and Improvements on Functionality and Collaboration
Autodesk 2013 Design and Creation Suites, and along with Autodesk 360, seek to address the evolving business needs in terms of workflows and design requirements. The Autodesk 2013 economically combines several essential design and creation platforms such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Maya software, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD Civil 3D, to provide a more efficient way to manage different toolsets.
Important Upgrades of Autodesk 2013
- Some of the added features of the AutoCAD 2013 include powerful enhancements like new documentation workflows, cloud capabilities and a more streamlined interface. Through the new cloud connectivity, users can easily access and collaborate on their designs at their convenience.
- The Autodesk Revit is targeted for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and helps building design professionals create and maintain better quality and better energy-efficient buildings.
- For the construction and engineering design professionals, the AutoCad Civil 3D caters to the different needs of the business through improved BIM workflows.
The Autodesk 2013 platform also includes the Entertainment Creation Suites 2013, the preferred software of leading design professionals in the entertainment industry. Artists can benefit from its enhanced features on consistency and efficiency, even while toggling across different design platforms. The Entertainment Creation Suites 2013 contains Autodesk 3ds Max 2013, Autodesk Maya animation software, Autodesk Mudbox 2013 for 3D painting and sculpting, Autodesk MotionBuilder 2013 for motion capture editing and real-time virtual production, and Autodesk Softimage 2013 3D animation and visual effects software.
The Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 provides an ActiveShade support with its new render pass system, the NVIDIA iray. This application can also be easily integrated and operated alongside Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop, and other design software dedicated to 3D animation, motion graphics and simulation.
With new options for rendering, animation, and dynamic simulation, Autodesk Maya 2013 enables artists to explore their creativity further while working on projects a lot faster. Maya 2013 also introduces the Open Data initiative, additional toolsets that allow parallel workflows, and better handling of complicated processes.
