Adobe Premiere Elements 14
After 13 successful versions and software updates, Adobe Premiere Elements is still a favorite of enthusiast video makers. With its innovative-yet easy to explore features that allow users to make professional looking edited videos and films, this version keeps up with the times by adding support for 4K Ultra HD video and some nifty new effects like motion titles and color pop. It also has commendable added features on text and title options, audio editing and graphics manipulation.
Performance-wise, Premiere Elements is quite alright, but still behind some of its contemporaries. The program's render speed with OpenCL acceleration enabled is nothing short of astonishing. Elements does show you a progress bar with the percent elapsed and time remaining, but not the elapsed time, current frame, or a video preview, as some other editors do.
Premiere Elements 14 introduces Motion Titles. Users are presented with six preset options, including Contemporary, Formal, Geometric, Decorative, Typography, and Fun, along with a custom option. These effects can be chosen and explored, which has default settings for transitions, picture-in-picture, chroma keying, scaling, opacity, and even keyframe-timed effects.
These options and themes still have its ‘professional looking’ look, despite being innovative and different. Users can also get good customizability with fonts, background image and animation in accordance with the selected theme.
Version 14 also puts more emphasis on audio, with a new audio-only view in the timeline that also opens up the Master volume control. The Adjustments menu includes volume, balance, and treble and bass boost, as well as AudioGain, which normalizes audio to match sound levels of all your sources.
